**Happy International Women’s Day!**
As I reflect on my journey, I am reminded of my roots. I was born in France and come from a French aristocratic lineage on my mother’s side, tracing back to the sister of Louis XI.
**A Life of Exploration**
Growing up, my parents had an insatiable curiosity to discover the world. During my early years, we lived in Beirut, Lebanon, from ages five to eight. My father, a civil engineer, was hired by the Lebanese government to construct Beirut’s infrastructure, which was a fascinating experience for our family.
**Adventures in Africa**
In addition to our time in Lebanon, our family also lived in Congo, Africa. Here, my father contributed to developing various industries, further expanding our horizons and understanding of different cultures.
**A Multilingual Family**
My brother, who is Ivy League educated, resided in Poland, where he taught at universities and married a Polish woman. Together, they are fluent in six languages, including Russian, Polish, Italian, English, and French. He has become a renowned journalist, authoring many insightful books.
Moreover, my sister and her late husband had spent over two decades living and traveling in the South China Sea. They settled in Bangkok, Thailand and also highly multilingual, further enriching our family’s linguistic heritage.
**Linguistic Legacy**
Throughout my upbringing, my father kept his Latin and Greek dictionaries close by. He taught us the intricacies of linguistics, which sparked my own passion for languages. Later, as a pioneer in franchising for the brand PACO RABANNE, he traveled extensively around the globe, even flying on the first Concord flight from Paris to New York. He often expressed a wish to move to the United States if he were younger.
**Embracing Change**
Inspired by my father’s adventurous spirit, I made the decision to immigrate to the United States in my late teens. In school, I had studied German and English, which helped me adapt to my new environment.
**Pursuing My Passion**
As a medical Qigong doctor, I am particularly passionate about studying Chinese constructs, words, philosophy, and culture. This dedication to understanding different perspectives has equipped me with a global outlook on the dynamics of the world, especially regarding the current situation.
**Pride in My Journey**
I take pride in the drive, wisdom, and courage I demonstrated at a young age to choose the path of becoming an American. Today, my children are American, and my grandson is also an American.
In conclusion, I would like to wish everyone a joyous International Women’s Day! Let us celebrate the strength and resilience of women around the world.
